The focus of InterAct over the next year will be aimed at the trialling, development and afterlife of pieces of theatre. Rather than aiming to create a high turnover of performance, InterAct wants to create a working environment were ideas can be tested and build to work-in-progress performances or full performances. InterAct also wants to focus on the academic side of creating theatre, enhancing relationships with departmental expertise and established alumni. Our aim is to make talks, workshops and training readily available to students that work in conjuncture with their studies and with their post university aspirations.
Unlike the other societies in Bristol InterAct works with the faculty rather than the Student Union allowing us to use the great facilities at the Theatre Department on Cantocks Close, whilst also having access to the film department's equipment at the SU.
InterAct works alongside the faculty to provide students with the opportunity to stage productions within the Department and make use of the film-making equipment, creating roles as directors, actors, dramaturgs, lighting and sound technicians, costume and set designers, producers and choreographers for students to fulfil. This year Interact aims to provide all students within the department the opportunity to fully realise their creative potential.
